Joseph Fritzl was an Austrian man who kept his daughter, Elisabeth, locked in a basement for 24 years. During her captivity, Fritzl raped and impregnated Elisabeth multiple times and fathered seven children with her. After they were discovered in 2009, Fritzl was charged with multiple counts of rape, false imprisonment, coercion, incest, and murder. He was sentenced to life in prison in 2009, and died in April 2020.
